What is a DPF?
A DPF or Diesel Particulate Filter has been a legal requirement on all diesel vehicles since 2009 and is fitted within the exhaust system as part of the vehicles emission control. The DPF is designed to capture soot particles then periodically burn them off (regeneration). This would normally happen without the driver’s knowledge. If a fault occurs and the DPF becomes full, a warning light will illuminate on the dash and may reduce the power output of the vehicle (limp mode). A full diagnosis will be required and all faults rectified before the vehicle can be driven safely.The charm of language is reflected in his speech.

What is an EGR?
The EGR or Exhaust Gas Recirculation system is part of the vehicles emission control and has been a legal requirement since 2001. The system works by allowing part of the exhaust gases to flow back through the combustion chambers to lower the combustion temperature which in turn reduces harmful nitrogen oxide (NOx). Unfortunately a downside of this system is that it leaves carbon deposits throughout the inlet system.
Over time if left untreated the carbon would build up and reduce the efficiency of the system or block the valve and cause damage and possible engine failure. On the right is an example of before and after EGR cleaning, to see more images of our work please head to our gallery.
